Hadeeth e Nur of Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala 'Anhu)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا


اے نبیِ (مکرّم!) بیشک ہم نے آپ کو (حق اور خَلق کا) مشاہدہ کرنے والا اور (حُسنِ آخرت کی) خوشخبری دینے والا اور (عذابِ آخرت کا) ڈر سنانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے

اور اس کے اِذن سے اللہ کی طرف دعوت دینے والا اور منوّر کرنے والا آفتاب (بنا کر بھیجا ہے)

Hadeeth of Jabir Bin 'Abdullah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala 'Anhu) 



Al-Juz al-Mafqud min al-Juz al-Awwal min al-Musannaf Abdur Razaq, Publish: Dar al-Muhadith, Riyadh/Saudia

It is narrated by Imam Abdur Razaq from Mua'mar, from Ibn al-Mankadr, from Jabir ibn `Abd Allah said to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) : "O Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him), may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, tell me of the first thing Allah created before all things." He (Peace Be Upon Him) said: "O Jabir, the first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet from His light, and that light remained (lit. "turned") in the midst of His Power for as long as He wished, and there was not, at that time, a Tablet or a Pen or a Paradise or a Fire or an angel or a heaven or an earth. And when Allah wished to create creation, he divided that Light into four parts and from the first made the Pen, from the second the Tablet, from the third the Throne, [and from the fourth everything else]......." حضرت جابر بن عبد اﷲ رضی اﷲ عنہما سے مروی ہے فرمایا کہ میں نے بارگاہِ رسالت مآب صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم میں عرض کیا : یا رسول اﷲ! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان! مجھے بتائیں کہ اﷲ تعالیٰ نے سب سے پہلے کس چیز کو پیدا کیا؟ حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : اے جابر! بے شک اﷲ تعالیٰ نے تمام مخلوق (کو پیدا کرنے) سے پہلے تیرے نبی کا نور اپنے نور (کے فیض ) سے پیدا فرمایا، یہ نور اللہ تعالیٰ کی مشیت سے جہاں اس نے چاہا سیر کرتا رہا۔ اس وقت نہ لوح تھی نہ قلم، نہ جنت تھی نہ دوزخ، نہ (کوئی) فرشتہ تھا نہ آسمان تھا نہ زمین، نہ سورج تھا نہ چاند، نہ جن تھے اور نہ انسان، جب اﷲ تعالیٰ نے ارادہ فرمایا کہ مخلوق کو پیدا کرے تو اس نے اس نور کو چار حصوں میں تقسیم کر دیا۔ پہلے حصہ سے قلم بنایا، دوسرے حصہ سے لوح اور تیسرے حصہ سے عرش بنایا۔ پھر چوتھے حصہ کو (مزید) چار حصوں میں تقسیم کیا تو پہلے حصہ سے عرش اٹھانے والے فرشتے بنائے اور دوسرے حصہ سے کرسی اور تیسرے حصہ سے باقی فرشتے پیدا کئے۔ پھر چوتھے حصہ کو مزید چار حصوں میں تقسیم کیا تو پہلے حصہ سے آسمان بنائے، دوسرے حصہ سے زمین اور تیسرے حصہ سے جنت اور دوزخ بنائی۔ ۔ ۔ یہ طویل حدیث ہے۔

The Proof of existence of this Hadith

7. `Abidin (Ahmad al-Shami d. 1320), the son of the Hanafi scholar Ibn `Abidin, cites the hadith as evidence in his commentary on Ibn Hajar al-Haytami's poem al-Ni`mat al-kubra `ala al-`alamin. 

8. Nabahani cites it in his Jawahir al-bihar (3:354).

Imam 'Abdur Razzaq as a narrator

Imam Abdur Razzaq is a well known Reliable narrator without any doubt .
He is one of the central narrator of Sihah Sitta specially Sahi Bukhari and Sahi Muslim.

Sahi Bukhari have approximately 120 narrations from Imam 'Abdur Razzaq.
And more than 50 of them are narrated by the chain of "Abdur Razzaq from Ma'mar bin Rashid."

Sahi Muslim have approximately 289 narrations from Imam 'Abdur Razzaq.

Abu Hurraira (ra) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (May Peace be upon him) that he said:
When Allah created Adam (Peace be upon him) He informed him of his descendants, at this Adam (Peace be upon him) saw superiority of some over others, then he saw me towards the end in form of an “ILLUMINATING NUR” (i.e. the Last of the Prophets to be sent) he (Adam) said: O my Lord who is this? The Lord replied: This is your son Ahmed who is the first and the last and (on the Day of Judgment) he will be first to do intercession.

2. Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki

Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki (D. 736) writes: 
"The first thing Allah created is the light (Nur) of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and that light came and prostrated before Allah. Allah divided it into four parts and created from the first part the Throne, from the second the Pen, from the third the Tablet, and then similarly He subdivided the fourth part into parts and created the rest of creation. Therefore the light of the Throne is from the light of Muhammad, the light of the Pen is from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the light of the Tablet is from the light of Muhammad, the light of day, the light of knowledge, the light of the sun and the moon, and the light of vision and sight are all from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Translation:


Imam Taj ad-Din Subki said: "It has been said that Allah created the spirits before the bodies, and the Prophet's reference to his prophecy in the hadith, "I was a Prophet while Adam was still between the spirit and the body”may be a reference to his blessed spirit and to the Reality of Realities (haqiqat al-haqa'iq). Our minds fall short of knowing such a Reality, but its Creator knows it, and also those to whom He extends a madad of light from Him [man amaddahu bi nurin ilahi]. Allah brings to existence whichever of these realities that He likes in the time that He pleases. As for the reality of the Prophet, it is most likely that it was before the creation of Adam, and Allah gave it its prophetic attribute upon its creation; therefore already at that time, he was the Prophet."

Translation:
Ka'aab bin Ahbaar said: That Adam (may peace and blessings be upon Him) said O my son whenever you do Zikr of Allah always remember to do zikr of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) too without doubt I saw his name written on skies when I was between Soul and Soil I did Tawaf of all the skies and didn’t saw a single place in these skies when Muhammad name wasn’t written, on the cheeks of Hoors, on the heaven's castle's tree leafs, on the leafs of Tooba tree, on the leaves of tree called Sidrah al-Muntiha, on the eyes of gatekeepers of heaven and between the eyes of angels I saw Muhammad written, so you should do their Zikr with much focus and extreme, without doubt the angels also remember him all the time.

Abdullah Ibn Abbas narrated: That I said 'O' Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), my mother and father be sacrificed on you wherre were you at the time Adam (may peace and blessings be upon Him) was in heaven, He said that the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) smiled so that his teeth became clear then he said I was in the loin of Adam (may peace and blessings be upon Him) and then in the loin of my father Noah (may peace and blessings be upon Him) then I was taken on a ship then my Light (Nur) was put into loin of Abraham (may peace and blessings be upon Him) my parents were never given to me expect those who did Nikah I was always transffered to pure people. In Turah and Bible was my name was mentioned every Prophet of Allah mentioned by blessings, With my Light (Nur) the morning was lightened and the peopel got cloud shadow due to me and Allah granted me one of his names and He is Mehmood of Arsh and I am Muhammad and Allah promised me Hodh al-Kosar and he made me the first Intercessor and I will be the first person who Intercession on will be accepted, and Allah gave me birth in the best time of mankind, the people of my Ummah are those who praise Allah, they ask to do good deeds and stop from sins.

6. Imam al-Sayyid Mahmud Alusi

Translation:

Imam Alusi (al-Sayyid Mahmud) in his commentary of Qur'an said:
"The Prophet's being a mercy to all is linked to the fact that he is the intermediary of the divine outpouring over all contingencies [i.e. all created things without exception], from the very beginnings (wasitat al-fayd al-ilahi `ala al-mumkinat `ala hasab al-qawabil), and that is why his light was the first of all things createdas stated in the report that "The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir," and also cited is: "Allah is the Giver and I am the Distributor." The Sufis -- may Allah sanctify their secrets -- have more to say on that chapter."

There is a notable explanation among Ahl al-Sunna which ascribes the meaning of the Prophet to both the Light and the Book. al-Sayyid al-Alusi said in Ruh al-ma`ani said:

Translation:

"I do not consider it far-fetched that what is meant by both the Light and the Manifest Book is the Prophet, the conjunction being in the same way as what was said by al-Jubba'i [in that that both the Light and the Book were the Qur'an]. There is no doubt that all can be said to refer to the Prophet. Perhaps you will be reluctant to accept this from the viewpoint of expression (`ibara); then let it be from the viewpoint of subtle allusion (ishara)."

(I am) the prayer of my father Ibrahim and the glad tidings proclaimed by `Isa to his people and the vision of my mother who saw that a light issued from her illuminating the very palaces of Syria,"

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
Reciting these ayaats after this hadith "(I am) the vision of my mother who saw that a light issued from her illuminating the very palaces of Syria," is the proof that Siraaj Am Muneera from this ayaat means the Light of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) which Ahl us Sunnah Wal Jama'ah Believe !

لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ
يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
هُوَ اللَّهُ الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
اللّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

 ومحمد رسول الله وحبيب الله صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم" الذي رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ كما قال الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم" وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
وحبه لهذه الأمة أعظم من جميع كما قال الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم" لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
  وقال الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم في مدح النبي صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم "وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
انه هو الذي ينير العالم من سراجه كما قال الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
يا رسول الله صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم !أنت الوسيلة في هذه الدنيا وفي الآخرة وأنا بحاجة بركاتك في هذه الدنيا والآخرة حمايتي في القبرمن فضلك يا رسول الله صلی اللہ  علیہ وآلہ وسلم 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

The famous Guru of Sikh people Baba Guru Nanak and Bhagat Kabeer had written some "dohay" (2 sentence poetry) in which they states:::
Translitration 1:
Bhagt Kabir Says: " Adad nikalo cheez se, Chowgan karlo Da'ay
                             2 Mila k pach gin karlo , (bees)20 ka bhag lagay
                              Baqi bachy k 9 gin karlo, is main 2 or milaay
                              Kaht kabir suno bhai sadhu,Namm Muhammad Ay

Translation: Take out digits of any thing, make them 4 times plus, then put 2 in that value and again make it 5 times plus, and divide them with 20. What ever value lefts behind make it 9 times more add and again put 2 in its value. listen o person, you will get the name of Muhammad.(peace and blessing upon him).
Now here is what Baba Guru Nanak is saying about our Holy Prophet and giving his mathemtical knowledge that everything in this world is because of the name of Muhammad.
He says:
Translitration:

Naam lo jis ach-hr ka, Kar lo Chowgan saar
2 Mila kar 5nj guna , 20soon 2 uraa
jo bachay so 9 gun kar, 2 aur lo mila
Nanak Tanbadan se Muhammad Lo Bana

Translation: its same baba is saying that. Whatever word you have take its value, and make them 4 times addition,then put 2 in the getting value and again add 5 times more the total value and multiply it with 20. What else left make it 9 times more addition and put value 2 in it and you will get the name of Prophet Muhammad.

Now let me explain it with some beautiful examples
1. Taking any word and taking out its numerical value according to the table (which was givin in my older post)
2.What value we get,multiply it with 4.
3.What value we get, add (2) in it.
4.Multiply the total value with 5
5.Divide the total getted value with 20.
5.What left after that multiply it with 9
6.Again add (2) into the total value

After doing this you will get the numeric value of 92. (92 is the numeric value of the name of Holy Prophet Muhammad) (peace and blessing be upon him)
e.g
م - ح - م - د
4+40+8+40=92
Now examples:
1.   Moon (Chand)'s Digits are (according to the table) 59
1. 59 x 4 = 236
2. Now we added (2) to 236 = 238
3.   238 x 5 = 1190
4.  1190 (divided with) 20 = 10 left
5. 10 x 9 = 90
6. added (2) = 92 ( Muhammad's numeric value)



Example 2:
Let us take a Name e.g Qamar (قمر)
Qamar name has numerical value of : 340
1. 340
2. 340 x 4 =1360
3-  2+ 1360 = 1362
4-  1362 x 5 = 6810
5-  6810 (divided by) 20 = 10
6-  10 x 9 = 90
7- 90+ 2 = again  (92)



Example 3 :
Name : Amjad Ali
158
158x 4 = 632
632+2 = 634
634 x 5 = 1370
3170 (D) 20 = 10 left final adding
10 x 9 = 90
90+2=92 again.


Whatever name you have to use the mathematical formula is simple. + all their values can be taken from table and added , multiplied,substracted, again adding and substraction and multiplying. The last thing will be 92 .

Imam Ibn e Jareer Tabari aur Hafiz Ibn e Katheer nain bayan kiya:

Hazrat Abu hurirah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala Anhu) say (taweel rawayat main) marwi hay:

'(Jang e Yamamah k moqa' par Hazrat Huzaifah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala Anhu) ki shahadat k bad) Hazrat Khalid Bin waleed (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala Anhu) nain jhanda uthaya aur lashkar say guzar kar Musylamah kazzaab k mustaqir pahaad ki taraf chal diay aur is Intizar main thy k musylamah tak pohnch kar usy qatal kar dain. Phir wo loot aay aur dono lashkaron k darmayan khary ho kar muqabla ki dawat di aur buland awaaz say farmaya: Main Waleed ka byta hun, main Aamir o Zaid ka bayta hun. Phir unhoun nain Muslmaanon ka murawwajah Nara buland kiya aur un Dino unka Jangi nara 

" YA MUHAMMADAH (Ya Muhammad (SALLALAHU A'LAIHAY WA ALIHE WASALLAM)! madad farmaiay)" tha.'

Hadith # 3

Malik ad-Dar (i.e. treasurer of Umar (RA)) relates: The people were gripped by famine during the tenure of Umar (Ibn-ul-Khattab R.A). 

Then a man walked up to the grave of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! ask for rain from Allah for your Ummah who is in dire straits. Then he (Malik Ad Dar) saw the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in dream. The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said to him, Go over to Umar (R.A), give him my regards and tell him that the rain will come to you. And tell Umar that he should be on his toes, he should be on his toes (he should remain alert). He went over to see Umar (R,A) and passed on to him the tidings. On hearing this, Umar (R.A) broke into a spurt of crying. He said, O Allah, I exert myself to the full until I am completely exhausted.

وَكَذَلِكَ أَعْثَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا إِذْ يَتَنَازَعُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَمْرَهُمْ فَقَالُوا ابْنُوا عَلَيْهِم بُنْيَانًا رّ...َبُّهُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِهِمْ قَالَ الَّذِينَ غَلَبُوا عَلَى أَمْرِهِمْ لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ عَلَيْهِم مَّسْجِدًا

Quran states: Thus did We make their case known to the people, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, "Construct a building over them": Their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said, "Let us surely build a place of worship over them." (18:21)

Imam Ibn Jarir (Rahimuhullah) writes in his Tafsir at Tabri:

فقال الـمشركون: نبنـي علـيهم بنـياناً، فإنهم أبناء آبـائنا، ونعبد الله فـيها، وقال الـمسلـمون: بل نـحن أحقّ بهم، هم منا، نبنـي علـيهم مسجداً نصلـي فـيه، ونعبد الله فـيه

Translation: The Mushrikeen said: We will build a building over it and worship Allah in it but the Muslims said: We have more right over them and we will surely “BUILD A MOSQUE” so that we can pray there and worship Allah. [Tafsir at-Tabri (15/149)

Mullah Ali Qari (rah) writes in detail and gives perfect clarification by saying:

أما من اتخذ مسجدا في جوار صالح أو صلى في مقبرة وقصد الإستظهار بروحه أو وصول أثر ما من أثر عبادته إليه لا للتعظيم له والتوجه نحوه فلا حرج عليه ألا ترى أن مرقد إسماعيل عليه السلام في المسجد الحرام عند الحطيم ثم أن ذلك المسجد أفضل مكان يتحرى المصلى لصلاته والنهي عن الصلاة في المقابر مختص بالقبور المنبوشة لما فيها من النجاسة كذا ذكره الطيبي وذكر غيره أن صورة قبر إسماعيل عليه السلام في الحجر تحت الميزاب وإن في الحطيم بين الحجر الأسود وزمزم قبر سبعين نبيا

Translation: Anyone who builds a mosque near the grave of an upright person or prays in the tomb (Maqbara) or intends to ask for help through the Ruh of that upright person or intends to seek barakah from his left overs, If he does all that without the intention of giving him Tazeem or doing tawajuh towards him ( in prayer) “Then there is nothing wrong in that, don't you see that Grave of Hadrat Ismail(A.S) is inside the Masjid ul Harram near the hateem and to Pray there is Superior than anything else ” however to pray near the graves is only forbidden when the soil becomes dirty because of Najasat of deceased… In the Hateem near Hajr al Aswad and Mizaab there are “Graves of 70 Prophets” [Mirqat, Sharh al Mishqaat, Volume No. 2, Page No. 202]

Imam Abu Hayyan al Andalusi (rah) said:

وروي أن التي دعت إلى البنيان كانت كافرة أرادت بناء بيعة أو مصنع لكفرهم فمانعهم المؤمنون وبنوا عليهم مسجداً

Translation: The person who told to make a building over them was a Kafir woman, she told to make a Church over them where deeds of Kufr can take place, however the momineen stopped her and made a Masjid over there instead [Tafsir Bahr al Muheet, Volume No. 7, Page No. 158]

Imam Qurtubi had also mentioned this in his Tafsir under 18:21

Allama Ibn Jawzi (rah) who is considered the most strict scholar and revered highly by Salafi Muslims, he states in his Tafsir under 18:21

قال ابن قتيبة: يعني المُطاعين والرؤساء، قال المفسرون: وهم الملك وأصحابه المؤمنون اتخذوا عليهم مسجداً

Translation: Ibn Qutayba (rah) said that the Mufasireen said: People who made Masjid were the (Muslim) King and his Momineen companions [Tafsir Zaad ul Maseer, Volume No. 5, Page No.124]

وعن ابن عمر أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
"في مسجد الخيف قبر سبعون نبياً".
رواه البزار ورجاله ثقات.

Translation: Narrated by Ibn Umar (RA) from Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) who said: In (fi) the Mosque of al-Khayf there is Qabr of 70 Prophets (together) –- Imam al Haythami said that it is narrated by Al-Bazzar and “all its narrators are trustworthy” (i.e. Hadith is absolutely sahih) It is narrated by "Imam al-Haythami in Majma az Zawaid, Volume No. 3 Bab fi Masjid al Khayf, Hadith #5769"

These proofs establish from the Nass of Quran and Hadith that to build tombs over graves of Prophets and Saliheen is a righteous act. The Wahabiyyah declared vast majority of Muslims as Mushrikeen by saying that tombs are Naudhobillah Idol houses and that graves of righteous even the Prophet should be destroyed or flattened, they did this heinous act to the graves of many Sahaba who are buried in Jannat ul Baqi and Muala but due to Muslim pressure they were not able to do this to the blessed grave of Prophet (Peace be upon him)

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اﷲِ صلي الله عليه وآله وسلم : لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْحِجْرِ، وَقُرَيْشٌ تَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ مَسْرَايَ، فَسَأَلَتْنِي عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ...لَمْ أُثْبِتْهَا، فَکَرِبْتُ کُرْبَةً مَا کَرِبْتُ مِثْلَهُ قًطُّ، قَالَ : فَرَفَعَهُ اﷲُ لِي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ. مَا يَسْأَلُوْنِي عَنْ شَيءٍ إِلَّا أَنْبَأْتُهُمْ بِهِ. وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي جَمَاعَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ، فَإِذَا مُوْسَي عليه السلام قَاءِمٌ يُصَلِّي، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ ضَرْبٌ جَعْدٌ کَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوْءَةَ. وَإِِذَا عِيْسَي ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ عليه السلام قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي، أَقْرَبُ النَّاسِ بِهِ شَبَهًا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُوْدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ. وَإِذَا إِبْرَاهِيْمُ عليه السلام قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي، أَشْبَهُ النَّاسِ بِهِ صَاحِبُکُمْ (يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ) فَحَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَمَمْتُهُمْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْتُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ قَائِلٌ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ، هَذَا مَالِکٌ صَاحِبُ النَّارِ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ. فَالْتَفَتُّ إِلَيْهِ فَبَدَأَنِي بِالسَّلَامِ

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: I found myself in Hijr and the Quraish were asking me about my might journey. I was asked about things pertaining to Bait-ul-Maqdis which I could not preserve (in my mind). I was very much vexed, so vexed as I had never been before. Then Allah raised it (Bait-ul-Maqdis) before my eyes. I looked towards it, and I gave them the information about whatever they questioned me I also saw myself among the group of apostles. I saw Moses saying his prayer and found him to be a well-built man as if he was a man of the tribe of Shanu'a. I saw Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) offering prayer, of all of men he had the closest resemblance with 'Urwa b. Masu'd al-Thaqafi. I saw Ibrahim (peace be upon him) offering prayer; he had the closest resemblance with your companion (the Prophet himself) amongst people. When the time of prayer came I led them. When I completed the prayer, someone said: Here is Malik, the keeper of the Hell; pay him salutations. I turned to him, but he preceded me in salutation.

Musa (A.S) is alive in his grave and also other Prophets remain alive in their graves

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اﷲِ صلي الله عليه وآله وسلم قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ، (وفي رواية هدّاب:) مَرَرْتُ عَلَي مُوْسَي لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِي عِنْدَ الْکَثِيْبِ الْأَحْمَرِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي قَبْرِه

Anas b. malik reported

Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: I came. And in the narration transmitted on the authority of Haddib (the words are): I happened to pass by Moses on the occasion of the Night journey near the red mound (and found him) saying his prayer in his grave.

Imam Suyuti (Rehmat'Ullah Aliah)

Imam Suyuti (rah) on Hayat of Anbiya in their graves: The life of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in his grave, and also that of other Prophets is known to us as "definitive knowledge (ilman qat`iyyan)" the proofs regarding it are in "TAWATUR" Imam Baihaqi (rah) wrote a Juzz on Life of Anbiya in their graves, the proofs regarding it are such as 1) It is narrated in Sahih Muslim by Anas Ibn Malik (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said: “I passed by Moses during my Night journey and saw him offering prayer in his grave, 2) It is narrtaed by Abu Nua'ym in his Hiliya from Ibn Abbas (ra) who heard the Prophet (Peace be upon him) say: I passed by Moses and saw him standing in prayer, 3) It is narrated in Musnad of Abu Yal'a and by Baihaqi in his book "Hayat al Anbiya" from Anas (ra) that the Porphet (Peace be upon him) said: The Prophets are alive in their graves and praying.

Imam Haythami (rah) said after the last hadith as mentioned above: رواه أبو يعلى والبزار، ورجال أبو يعلى ثقات (i.e. Abu Ya’la and Bazzar narrated it and all the narrators of Abu Ya’la are trustworthy).. Imam al Hafidh Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rah) also authenticated it in his Fath ul-Bari, Volume 6: Page No. 483 [and 602-603 in Qadimi Kutab Khana version]

#1#FROM THE NOBLE QURAN
ALLAH  says in the Noble Quran
1.“We sent down in the Quran that which is a CURE and mercy for the faithful”. (17:82)
2.“Say: For those who have faith, it (Quran) is a guidance and HEALING; but as for those who are faithless, there is a deafness in their ears and it is lost to their sight”. (41:44)

#2# FROM SAHEEH AHADITH

 Hadith 1. عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشِّفَاءَيْنِ: الْعَسَلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ

Translation: Narrated by Abdullah Ibn Masud (ra) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Make use of the two cures i.e. the honey and Quran  [Sunnan Ibn Majah Volume No.2, Hadith No. 3531]

Hadith 2.

. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا فَزِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي النَّوْمِ فَلْيَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ فَإِنَّهَا لَنْ تَضُرَّهُ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُلَقِّنُهَا مَنْ بَلَغَ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ مِنْهُمْ كَتَبَهَا فِي صَكٍّ ثُمَّ عَلَّقَهَا فِي عُنُقِهِ

Amr ibn Shu’ayb reported from his father, from his grandfather that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If any of you gets a nightmare, let him say: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah against His wrath and His punishment and the’ mischief of His slaves and from the temptations of the devils and that which they bring,

 Then they will not harm him.” So, Abdullah ibn Amr used to teach this supplication to his grown up children. And, he wrote it down on something and hung it on the neck of those who had not attained puberty.  [Abu Dawud 3893 ,sunan tirmidhi Chapter 99, hadith 3539] أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَالْحَاكِمُ وَقَالَ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ

Abu Dawood [rah], Nasai [rah] and Al Hakim [rah] said the Isnad is SAHIH 

And قال ‏ ‏أبو عيسى ‏ ‏هذا ‏ ‏حديث حسن غريب ‏

Imam Tirmidhi after quoting it said: Abu Esa [rah] said the Hadith is Hasan Gharib


Hadith 3.

"When a person who was sick or in some distress they would go to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) who would then place his hand on the area of pain and recite a du'a' and then blow onto him" [Bukhari; Muslim, Chapter of Tibb]

Hadith 4.

"When the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was ill for the last time, Angel Jibril (peace be upon him) came and recited du'a' and blew on to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)" [Muslim, Chapter of Tibb]

Hadith 5.

" 'A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her) relates that when the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was ill for the last time, she recited Sura al-Falaq and Sura an-Nas and then blew on to the Prophet's (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) hands. The Prophet then blew this onto his own face and body because his hands had more blessing then 'A'isha's (may Allah be pleased with her)" [Muslim, Chapter of Tibb]

"Imam an-Nawawi in Sharh Muslim states: 
'There are two types of ahadith concerning this [For eg.. “He who wears an amulet commits Shirk.” (Ahmad, 4/156) And he (peace be upon him) said: “Verily, incantations, amulets and Tiwalah are Shirk.” (Abu Dawood, no. 3883)]

It is transmitted in Bukhari: 'There will be people who will enter Paradise without any questioning, who have never been blown upon.' Imam Muslim has also recorded a hadith in support of those who do not ask to be blown upon.
Imam Bukhari in the chapter on Tibb [Medicine] has written du'as that our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) recited when doing damm [reciting a du'a and then blowing onto a person].
 Imam Muslim states in 'The Chapter on Virtues of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)' that: "When our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was ill, the Angel Jibril came to him and performed the blowing."
 The above types of ahadith apparently seem to contradict each other but in reality there is no contradiction as the one which contain quran are allowed and the those which contain polytheistic things written in it is shirk. (see hadith no 7,8 below)

Allama Sa'idi in Sharh Sahih Muslim says :
"The former type of hadith refers to the prohibition of having read something that is not from the Qur'an and Sunna [i.e.something that has pictures, diagrams or words not from the Qur'an or Sunna] and then blow upon someone.
The latter types of ahadith which permit damm refer to those kalimat [words or verses] which have been taught by the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)" [Allama Sa'idi, Sharh Sahih Muslim, Chapter of Tibb]

Hadith no 6.

"Amr ibn Shu'aib (may Allah be pleased with him) said that 'Rasulu'llah(may Allah bless him and grant him peace) taught my father and grandfather a du'a which we would read before going to sleep, to protect us from fear and anguish.We told our elder children to recite this du'a before going to sleep as well.But for those children who were not yet literate, we would write it and then put it around their necks" [Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal vol.2,Abu Dawud, in 'Chapter of Medicine']

Hadith 7.
Jabir said: “I had an uncle who used to treat people with incantations for the scorpion’s sting. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade incantations, he came to him and asked him: ‘O Messenger of Allah, You have forbidden incantations, and I treat those who are stung by scorpions with incantations.’ He (peace be upon him) said: ‘He who can help his brother, let him do so.’ (Sahih Muslim, no. 2199)

Hadith 8.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There is no harm in incantations as long as they do not include Shirk. (Sahih Muslim, no. 2200)

The permissibility of hanging Ta’wizes is reported from many of the Companions and early Muslims (Salaf), including: Sa’id ibn al-Musayyab, Ata', Mujahid, Abd Allah ibn Amr, Ibn Sirin, Ubaydullah ibn Abd Allah ibn Umar, and others (Allah be well pleased with them all).     [Al-Musannaf ibn Abi Shayba, 5.439]. 


#4# FROM TAFASEER ....

1.Imam al-Qurtubi  says
"The ta'wiz that are forbidden are those ta'wiz from the Time of Ignorance -]those which are satanic and contain an element of shirk [mantar, voodoo and magic, etc.]. The ta'wiz, which are permitted are those written with du'as evidently from Qur'an and ahadith only" [al-Qurtubi, at-Tadhkirat, chapter on 'Ta'wiz']

2.Allama Alusi al-Hanafi says
  "According to Imam Malik 'It is permitted to put around the neck the ta'wiz written with the name of Allah.' Imam Baqir also stated that it is permitted to put such a ta'wiz around the neck of a child" [Ruh al-Mani, chapter 15, under Sura al-Mu'minun, verse 97]

3. Hafiz Ibn Kathir says
 "Amr ibn Shu'aib (may Allah be pleased with him) said that 'Rasulu'llah(may Allah bless him and grant him peace) taught my father and grandfather a du'a which we would read before going to sleep, to protect us from fear and anguish.We told our elder children to recite this du'a before going to sleep as well.But for those children who were not yet literate, we would write it and then put it around their necks" [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, under Sura al-Mu'minun, verse 97)

4. Qadi Shawkani says
He too narrates the same hadith (.But for those children who were not yet literate, we would write it and then put it around their necks) under the ayah 97 of Surah Al uminun in Fath al-Qadir.


#5#What the Imams Of Ahle Hadith or Salafis say...

I. Ibn Taymiyya writes:
 1."It is permissible to [to recite du'a's and then] blow upon the sick in Islam, but the words must be from the Qur'an or ahadith. If the words are not, then it is not permissible" [Ibn Taymiyya, At-Tawassul, Chapter on Blowing onto the Sick]

2. “It is permissible for an ill or troubled person, that certain verses from the Qur’an are written with pure ink, then it is washed and given to the ill to drink.Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) is reported to have mentioned a certain Dua that should be written and placed close to the woman who is experiencing hard labour at the time of giving birth. (Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya)

3.Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him) says:  Dua should be written and tied to the arm of the woman. We have experienced that there is nothing more amazing than this” (Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, 19/65). 

II. Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyyah(Student of Ibne Taymiyya) says: 

Some of our rightly guided ancestors stated that there is no harm if some ayat (Verse) from the Qur’an were written in ink and then washed with water and that the sick person drinks that water. Mujahid issues a statement to that effect and so did Abu Qilabah. It was also reported that Ibn ‘Abbas once commanded that two verses from the Qur’an to be written for a woman who had hard pregnancies and that the verses were then washed with water and she was to drink the water. Also Ayub said, “I saw Abu Qilabah write some Verses from the Qur’an wash it with water and then give the water to a person who was suffering from some type of illness to drink it [Tibb an Nabawi by Ibn Qayyim, Page No. 154, English version]

         CONCLUSION :
There are overwhelming proofs from Quran , Sahih Ahadith ,Amal of Sahaba and that of Salafe Saliheen to know that Wearing Of Amulets is not only allowed but is Sunnah of the Salaf.
To call it Shirk would be an exaggeration and the Person accusing others of shirk should be aware that he himself could become a kafir in the light of hadith

1.Prophet Muhammad (Salalaho alehe wasalam) said : If a person says to his brother, O KAFIR (disbeliever) !  Then surely one of them is such. (i.e; Kafir) (Sahih Bukhari Volume 8 Book 73 Number 125)

2.Prophet Muhammad (Salalaho alehe wasalam) said : Any person who calls his brother: O Unbeliever! (then the truth of this label) would return to one of them. If it is true, (then it is) as he asserted, (but if it is not true), then it returns to him (and thus the person who made the accusation is an Unbeliever). [Sahih Muslim Book 001, Number 0117:]

DONT CALL KAFIR TO MUSLIM

In the hadith Ibn Umar related that the Holy Prophet said: If a Muslim calls another kafir, then if he is a kafir let it be so; otherwise, he [the caller] is himself a kafir.'' (Abu Dawud, Book of Sunna, edition published by Quran Mahal, Karachi, vol. iii, p. 484)

Abu Zarr reported that the Holy Prophet said: No man accuses another man of being a sinner, or of being a kafir, but it reflects back on him if the other is not as he called him.'' (Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44)


"Withhold [your tongues] from those who say `There is no god but Allah' --- do not call them kafir. Whoever calls a reciter of `There is no god but Allah' as a kafir, is nearer to being a kafir himself.'' (Tabarani, reported from Ibn Umar)

Call not the people of your Qibla [i.e. those who face the Ka`ba in Makka for prayer] as kafir.'' (Al-Nihaya of Ibn Athir, vol. iv, p. 187)



"Three things are the basis of faith. [One is] to withhold from one who says `There is no god but Allah' --- do not call him kafir for any sin, nor expel him from Islam for any misconduct.'' (Abu Dawud, Book of Jihad, 15:33)


"Whoever attributes kufr [unbelief] to a believer, he is like his murderer.'' (Tirmizi, ch. Iman (Faith); see Arabic-Urdu edition cited earlier, vol. ii, p. 213. See also Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44)
